Quest For Leviathan Blog Tour – Book Review

Hullo, everyone! I’m so excited to be participating in the release tour for Amanda Tero’s new short story, Quest For Leviathan. It was such a fun historical fiction adventure! You can check out the book on Amazon and see more release tour happenings on Amanda Tero’s blog, along with a fun giveaway. I’ll be posting the full schedule down below! But first, my review.

This was such a good short story! I usually don’t read a lot of historical fiction, but I was really able to enjoy this story in spite of that. Quest for Leviathan was based on Job 41, which provided a great basis for the story. The characters had great story arcs, there was plenty of action, and the story itself had a great message. Since it was a short story, it’s hard to say much without spoiling anything, but it was definitely a fun, fast-paced read. Along with that, the story had great themes and was completely clean. I definitely recommend reading it!

About the Book

Leviathan took the life of his father.

Anath has spent three years preparing for the voyage that will end the threat of Leviathan. Yet as the Valor launches into the depths of the Mediterranean, an inward quest also begins, taking Anath to depths he is not willing to face.

June 16, 2018

I’m so excited to finally be bringing you guys this book! It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here! If you would be able to help out with this release, please fill out the contact form below! And now for the blurb (FINALLY!) and some details!

LIGHTPORTER

(Light-por-ter)

n. someone who has the ability to manipulate light and can use that ability to teleport

Albany and her twin sister, Brooklyn, have gotten more comfortable in the superhero world. But when Blaze starts acting secretive and weird monsters attack, the girls realize there is more going on that they still don’t know about. Before long, they discover that Blaze is hiding something—or someone. With FOE still hiding in the shadows, the girls must decide who they can trust… before it’s too late.

Important things to know about the blog tour:

  • The tour will last from June 11-16. If you sign up to help, you can post/promote on any (or all) of those days.
  • Starting on June 11th, Lightporter will be up for pre-order for $0.99, and Twinepathy‘s price will go down to $0.99 permanently! After the release (probably about a week after), Lightporter will go up to $2.99, so if you can buy it during the release or right after, you’ll get a lower price.
  • Don’t have a lot of time to participate, but still want to help? No problem! I’ll be providing a pre-written post with a description of the book and links.
  • If you haven’t read Twinepathy yet and don’t know if you would want to help promote Lightporter, ask me about a free PDF review copy of Twinepathy. I’d love to get some more reviews for it!
  • If I receive enough entries, there could be another fanart or fanfiction contest. If you’d be interested, let me know in the comments below! There could be signed paperback copies of Lightporter given away. 😀 If there aren’t enough entries for a contest, but a few people still submit entries, you’ll still get a special thank you, so let me know in the comments if you’d like to participate! (You can see the last contest here.)
  • If you sign up to do a character or an author interview, you must send me your questions by June 1st. This will give me time to answer your questions.
  • Have your own idea for a unique type of post? Let me know in the signup form or in the comments below. I’d love to hear it!

For one act of bravery, he is awarded his freedom and returns to a home that has been invaded and ravaged by the Calorin armies. When Corin sets foot on Aredor’s shores, he has one goal in mind: find his family. He is driven into the forest, where he is reunited with childhood friends. From the shelter of the woods, they begin a spirited rebellion against Corin’s former cruel master, who now holds sway over Aredor. Exiles (Ilyon Chronicles #4) by Jaye L. Knight – Release Blitz And Author Interview

Hullo, everyone! I’m here today with an author interview with Jaye L. Knight, in celebration of the release of book 4 in the Ilyon Chronicles!!! I’ve sadly gotten a little behind in this series, but I’m looking forward to catching up at some point in the future. 😀 On to the post!

Author Interview

C.B.: Starting off with a tough question! Which of your characters in the Ilyon Chronicles has
been your favorite to write?

Jaye: Jace! I love Jace. Jace is my precious. Jace will always be my precious. 😀 But that’s
probably pretty obvious to most of my readers. So I’ll make this more interesting and go beyond
the obvious. I also love writing Daniel. He always takes over his scenes. And then there’s Kaden
too. Really, it depends on the day and the scene. Most of the characters have been favorites to
write at one time or another.

Which of the books in the series was easiest for you to write, which was the hardest, and
why?

Looking back now that I’m on the very last book (which is being a royal pain in the
neck), I think Resistance was the easiest. When you first start a series, you have so much
excitement and it’s all so new and awesome. And you’re so pumped about it and anxious to get
to the next books. That really helps propel you forward. Six books in and six years later, you
can’t help getting a little bit tired and looking toward the finish line.

What is one piece of writing advice you would like to give to young aspiring authors?

Just write. Don’t get hung up on trying to get it right in the first draft, just get that story
on paper. You can always fix things later, but a blank page won’t get you anywhere. The best
way to learn is through practice, and the more you can write, the better. So go for it and don’t
worry what that first draft looks like.

Where do you get most of your story, plot, and/or character ideas?

Lots of places. It can be books, movies, music . . . pretty much anything. Ideas for Ilyon
Chronicles came from DragonQuest by Donita K. Paul, Robin Hood, Gladiator, The Hunger
Games, The Mentalist, Thor, and a commercial for a TV show called Unforgettable, among
many other things. I can pick up bits and pieces of ideas from just about anywhere.

You’re stuck on a deserted island! What person, what food, and what one other object
would you want with you? Why?

Is this person fictional or non-fictional? 😉 For non-fictional, I’d have to go with someone
who was good at surviving like Les Stroud or Bear Grylls, because, I mean, that would be
obvious. I do want to actually survive. But as for fictional person, well . . . Aragorn. Yeah, I’d
feel pretty good about my chances of survival with him. 🙂 For food . . . I guess something
imperishable, and it would have to be gluten free since I’m allergic to wheat (so imaginative,
lol). And object . . . something to write on, whether some sort of electronic device with unlimited
battery or a ginormous notebook. ‘Cause a writer’s gotta write. 😀

This was such a fun interview to do! I had no idea about all the different shows and books that inspired the Ilyon Chronicles!

About the Book

Exiled after their defeat in Samara, the Resistance struggles to find allies in their quest to
restore King Balen to his throne and put an end to the emperor’s tyranny. When the crete
people refuse to lend their aid, Balen leads a group to Dorland to reason with them and win their
support. However, enemies prove to be everywhere, and they find themselves in a fight to keep
Dorland from becoming Daican’s latest conquest.

Back in Landale, the arrival of a new enemy forces Trask and Anne to tread more carefully than
ever. Tensions are rising, and the enemy is determined to test Anne’s loyalty and root out the
location of Trask and the Resistance once and for all.

Feeling trapped within the walls of Valcré, Prince Daniel must contend with an ever-eroding
relationship with his father. As their clashes escalate, the situation becomes potentially life
threatening when his loyalty is called into question. His sister seems bent on branding him a
traitor and actively seeking to condemn him to the fate of those put to death in their father’s new
arena. Daniel is certain his father would never execute his only son and heir but, with other
forces at work, it might not be that simple.

One small misstep could prove fatal for all.

Giveaway Winner And A Few Other Things

Hullo, everyone! In case you missed it, yesterday was my blogiversary!!! *throws confetti and sprinkles* As you may have noticed, I hosted a little giveaway for a PDF copy of my novella, Paralyzed Dreams. And I am here to announce the winner.

But before that, let me tell you how I decided the winner. Because suspense and stalling, of course.

I wrote all the contestants’ names down on slips of paper and then put them into my wonderful Avengers cup.

avengerscup

Then I shook it up…

A lot…

Okay, fine. The winner is…

Claire B.

*throws confetti, glitter, and sprinkles towards Claire* Yay!!! I hope you’ll enjoy!
